PocketRadio ("we", "our", or "us") is developed and operated by Mojata Inc. This Privacy Policy explains how our Android application PocketRadio (the "App") handles information when you use it.

      Short version: PocketRadio does not collect, store, or share any personally
      identifiable information on our own servers. The only data-related activity is through
      Google AdMob (advertising) as described below.
    

1. Information We Collect

PocketRadio itself does not collect any personal information. We do not require account registration and do not store user data on any server we operate.

2. Permissions Used and Why

INTERNET — Required to stream live radio audio and load station metadata from the radio-browser.info public API.
READ_PHONE_STATE — Used solely to detect incoming phone calls so the App can automatically pause playback. No phone-related data is read, stored, or transmitted. This permission is optional; if denied, the App works normally but will not auto-pause on calls.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE / WAKE_LOCK — Required to keep audio playing in the background while the screen is off.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+) — Required to show the media playback notification with play/pause controls.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

PocketRadio uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and use data to show personalised ads in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

The types of data AdMob may collect include:

Device identifiers (Advertising ID)
IP address / approximate location
App usage and interaction data

You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time via your device settings: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation.

4. Third-Party Services

The App streams content from public radio stations via the radio-browser.info community API. This service has its own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing it if you have concerns about API-level data.

5. Data Retention

Your favourite stations and app preferences are stored locally on your device only and are never transmitted to our servers. Uninstalling the App removes this data.

6. Children's Privacy

PocketRadio is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
